Populating the project

While on a project, go to the tasks spreadsheet.

Via the spreadsheet

To create a new object or task, right click in the spreadsheet and select an option in the Add menu. The Add menu will contain all available objects that can be created on the particular entity your right clicked on. To manage the available object types see Setting up workflow schemas.

By default the type of tasks created is Generic, but depending on which task types you have set up you can change to any other task type that is available (modeling, animation, compositing etc.)

You can continue to set the values for your tasks such as the bid, the start date and due date and assign users. Continue creating more sequences, shots and tasks, and click the save icon in the toolbar to save your work. It’s always a good idea to save frequently.

Tip

Press Ctrl+S / Cmd+S to save your work.

Via the create dialog

You can also create objects like sequences, shots and tasks by using the Create dialog that you bring up by clicking Create in the toolbar and selecting an option in the menu that appears.
